What do you do when you cross the FINISH LINE ? šŸ

After crossing the Finishing Line last week, I spent time reflecting, asking questions like:

ā“What went well

ā“How did I cope with the lows (there were many !)

ā“What will I do differently next time

Notice these questions are asked to encourage a positive mental attitude, not a negative one, like - what went wrong ? Reflecting on our experiences is captured well by a quote from Oscar Wilde:

"Experience is the hardest kind of teacher. It gives you the test first and the lesson afterward.ā€

This is a powerful message. The more we embrace our experiences, both good and bad, the better equipped we will be to deal with what life throws our way. They are opportunities for learning and growth, a lifelong process. We need to:

šŸ”† Take time to reflect, be honest with ourselves

šŸ”† Talk to others to get their feedback and insights

šŸ”† Use our experiences to help others avoid making the same mistakes

šŸ”† Don't be afraid to fail, failure is a part of life, it's how we grow

šŸ”† Forgive ourselves and move on

šŸ”† Celebrate our successes, this will help us stay motivated

How do you learn from your experiences, and importantly, how do you celebrate your successes ?

As part of my reflection, I had a great catch-up with my Running Coach and we talked through the experience of this brutal race. I learn so much from these sessions with a highly experienced trail runner.

Similarly, the clients of SRC draw on my 16 years of experience in international recruitment and prior to that 20+ years working on the client-side for multi-national engineering companies. During that time, I have made mistakes, fought tough battles and have ā€˜battle scarsā€™ which have taught me some important lessons ! As an APSCo Trusted Business Advisor, I can share my experience to help you avoid costly mistakes.

Many of SRCā€™s clients are exploring expansion into the US šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø and drawing on my experience and knowledge to help mitigate the risks and ensure compliance. Other clients are seeking SRCā€™s assistance to review strategically important contracts to address onerous liabilities or need help structuring a new strategic partnership. šŸ¤ The Retained Clients of SRC take advantage of a ā€œtrusted second opinionā€ based on a proven international track record of managing risk and compliance. šŸŒŽ

Feel free to get in touch if you would welcome an opportunity to explore how I can help you and your recruitment business.
